Pricing

Last updated: February 2026

Gardening Journal is currently in beta. During the beta period, all features are free. The pricing described below will take effect when the service is generally available.

The short version: Pay $9.99 once for lifetime access. After that, you only pay for what you use—most gardeners spend $1–3 per year. This pay-as-you-grow usage pricing keeps it crazy affordable for a budding gardener, and heavy users aren’t overcharged to keep it cheap for everyone else.

Try Before You Buy

Every new account starts with a free 1-week trial. Upload up to 100 photos and browse your journal as much as you like. No credit card required.

Lifetime Membership

After your trial, a one-time payment of $9.99 gives you lifetime access to Gardening Journal. No recurring subscription fees, no annual renewals. Pay once, grow forever.

Usage Fees

Uploading and viewing photos uses cloud resources. Rather than burying these costs in a higher membership fee, we pass them through at a transparent markup so you only pay for what you actually use.

For a typical gardener who uploads a few photos each week during the growing season, usage fees run about $1–3 per year.

Note: As you accumulate more photos over the years, the "Photo storage" line item will increase in subsequent annual invoices. Tap months to toggle your growing season. All rates include 4× markup on AWS costs. Photo views use an average download size of ~500 KB (95% small images, 5% full size). Storage is ~2 MB per photo (original + resized).

Satisfaction Guarantee

Your lifetime membership is refundable within 30 days, minus any usage costs you’ve incurred. If Gardening Journal isn’t right for you, just contact us at support@gardening-journal.com.
